Career Night Seminars


WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Points East Yankee Trader, hosts Career Nights throughout the year.  This event is held locally in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and is designed to provide you with information about who we are, our people and the Real Estate Market in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire and Southern Maine and MA.  Information  is presented in a comfortable atmosphere and is designed to assist you in your decision making process as to why you would want to become one of a very proud group of professionals.

Each of our seminars runs approximately 1-2 hours,and usually starts at 6:00 pm unless otherwise indicated.

Pre-Licensing and Continuing Education

 
Pre-licensing courses are provided nation wide, and must be approved by the state for which they are offering courses.  In Southern New Hampshire and Southern Maine however, there are two schools that are local and have proven track records with some of our current professionals.  Feel free to visit their sites for more information on upcoming Courses for both New Agents and Continuing Agents.

Licensing - Exam Information.

New Hampshire

 
Salesperson

Requires candidates to complete a 40 hour EXAM PREPREATION course with an approved school in order to sit for the state exam.

Term of License: 2 years
Fees: License Application Fee $70.00 + Criminal Records Check $15.00 - Renewal
Fee: $90.00 + Completion of 12 commission approved course hours continuing ed (3 hours of which are the core course).

 

Broker

A broker license will be issued only after successfully passing the real estate broker examination, and has worked the equivalent of either one year full time or 2000 hours part time as a salesperson, or prove to the commission that they have the equivalent experience required, and show proof of 60 hours of commission approved study,. All principal and manager broker applicant required to have a surety bond for $25,000

Term of License: 2 years.
Fees: License Application Fee $90.00 + Criminal Records Check $15.00
Renewal Fee: $100.00+ Completion of 12 commission approved course hours of continuing ed (3 of which are the core course).

New Hampshire Licensing Exams are given daily Monday-Friday in Concord, Manchester and Portsmouth. For additional info on the Testing Company go to: www.goamp.com.

Maine


Real Estate Sales Agent

(May only perform brokerage service in the employ of or on behalf of a licensed real estate agency and under the supervision of the agency's designated broker.
Requirements: Completed License Application, Age is at least 18, High School Diploma or equivalent.
How To Qualify: Complete Sales Agent course with minimum grade of 75% AND pass sales agent licensing exam with a minimum of 75% within one year of passing the sales agent course. Must obtain exam authorization request card in order to take the State Exam.

Term of License: 2 years, Non-Renewable.
Fees: License Application Fee: $80.00, Criminal Records Check Fee: $21.00.

 

Associate Broker

(This is the same as Sales Representative in NH) An AB must be affiliated with a licensed real estate agency to be eligible to perform brokerage services (this license may be put into inactive status).
Requirements: Must be 18, with high school diploma or equivalent, Completed License Application:
How to qualify: 2 years practice as an active licensed sales agent and, complete the 60 hour Associate Broker course (plus documented field Experience Form) with a minimum final grade of 75%, and Pass the Sales Agent examination administered by Pearson VUE (if this examination was not passed prior to Sales Agent licensure).

Term of License: 2 Years Biennial.
Fees: License Application $80.00 + $21.00 Criminal Background.
Renewal Fees: $80.00 Renewal fee + 21 Hours of commission approved courses (see sidebar for Schools)
